HIPAA Security Training

As a covered entity, ECU workforce members must be trained on HIPAA security issues and reminded of their security responsibility to protect electronic protected health information. This training is separate and different from the Privacy training. It will help to assist in protecting the confidentiality, security and integrity of ePHI. Information Technology alone is NOT the answer to securing confidential information, include ePHI; it must be combined with awareness and changes in human behavior.
